Cheers!

When planning a wedding or party food and beverage is always a very important part of the equation. It is also a major expenditure in your budget. One way to save is to provide your own alcohol, but first make sure that your venue allows this and there are no additional fees associated with bringing in your own liquor. Next make sure your bar is fully covered and that you have all of the supplies you need, such as a bartender who is properly equipped with (shakers, ice tongs) and you have proper glasses (martini, wine, champagne, high-ball), which your caterer can provide at a rental rate. Most importantly you want to make sure that you have enough liquor. According to “The Knot Book of Wedding Lists” by Carley Roney you should have the following amount of alcohol for a standard open bar, per 100 guests for a four hour reception.

Champagne: 18 bottles
Red wine: 10 bottles
White wine: 18 bottles
Beer: 2-3 cases
Whiskey: 1-2 liters
Bourbon: 1-2 liters
Gin: 1-2 liters
Scotch: 3 liters
Rum: 2 liters
Vodka: 6 liters
Tequila: 1 liter
Dry vermouth: 2 bottles
Sweet vermouth: 2 bottles
Tonic: 1 case
Club soda: 1 case
Cranberry juice: 2 gallons
Orange juice: 1 gallon
Grapefruit juice: 1 gallon

Style Perfect Events: Birthday Party

Weddings are not the only thing we do at Style Perfect Events. We also love to plan birthday parties, baby showers, anniversary parties and corporate and non-profit events. This summer we had the chance to plan and design a darling High Tea for Miss Adriana who was turning 1 years old.

The style of the party was "Pink and Pearls" and the design was girly with lots of roses, crystal china, pink damask and pearls. The custom details that we created for the party were the centerpieces, backdrop with decoupage letters strung with pearls and the straw party hats with flowers.

Here is the style board that we produced for the event.

The vendors used for the event were:

Rentals and Linens: Party Reflections
Catering: Amelie's French Bakery
Flowers: Style Perfect Events
Cake and cupcakes: Decadent Designs Bakery
Crystal Trays: Belk Department Store

Dessert Bar

This past Saturday, I planned a 40th birthday party for a client's husband. The event was a nice casual affair with friends and family taking place at their home. I was tasked to create an event that was "well done but understated", so no balloons, cake or vibrant colors.

"No cake"..."Great"...I've been dying to create the alternative to a cake...a dessert bar.

Which spawned in to a fabulous Dessert and Coffee Bar, filled with homemade pie pops, banana pudding, chocolate mouse, miniature flan, vanilla and pumpkin spice flavor shots for your coffee and more.

Here are two quick camera picks of the pie pops and desserts. More pics to follow.

I will post the professional pictures from the party once I receive them from the amazing photographer Jeremie Barlow from Jeremie Barlow Photography.
