Wedding Day Make-up

I've always known about airbrush make-up, but was always a little skeptical. Airbrush make-up sounds so harsh and it seems like it would run down your face if you get too hot.

Well, my concerns have been debunked!

Yesterday I took new headshots, since I have a new haircut, and Adrian Howe of the Beauty Sophisticate did my make-up and I was very pleased with how smooth and lightweight the airbrush foundation felt. It also didn't run down my face with the warm weather we had yesterday in Charlotte.

Here's a camera pic of my "airbrushed" look! ;-) Stay tuned for my new headshots taken by M. Clay Photography.

It's all about the TEAM!

One of the best parts of my job is being able to meet with new wedding professionals. I love learning about people and discovering what makes them who they are. Last week I had the pleasure of meeting with Rev. Tod Coles of Big Love Weddings and Amanda Pagano of Isabel's Corner Videography.

There is a large selection of wedding professionals, so as a wedding planner it is our job to always stay on top of the industry, market and people that make up the wedding business, so that we can deliver a fabulous wedding experience for our clients. It's all about the TEAM!

Rev. Tod Cole is fairly new to the wedding industry and has a heart felt story on how he get started in the business, as the officiant for his niece's wedding.

Tod has been a member of Davidson United Methodist Church for the past decade and although he does not have his own church or congregation, "he feels that it is a great honor to serve God and every bride and groom (regardless of their individual beliefs) by helping loving couples enter the holy sacrament of marriage."

Tod has an awesome down to earth personality and would be a joy to work with on any wedding!

Check-out Big Love Weddings.

Amanda Pagano of Isabel's Corner Videography, I had the chance to meet briefly last year and really enjoyed the wedding mosaic that she put together for one of my 2010 clients! This week we were able to sit down and chat and Amanda has a true passion for videography and the craft. You can check-out some of her work here.

Charlotte Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show

This past Sunday, Style Perfect Weddings and Events participated in the Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show at the Hilton Charlotte University Place! We had a great time chatting with brides and hope to work with many of you all soon.

Here are a few pictures from our tabletop display. Thank you so much to my fabulous florist Barbara of From This Day Forward Wedding and Special Event Design. The flowers were absolutely stunning! She also did the cake!

Brides who attended the show, make sure to give us a call to get in on the exclusive floral and event design limited offer.

Me and Barbara! She stayed at the show to help me out. ;-)

Big thank you to my awesome assistants, Nicole and Morgan, that were also on hand to answer questions from brides! Thank you ladies!

Happy Planning!

Fabulous Local Store Finds!

I have some great finds for you!

While in DC for New Year's, I stumbled across this fabulous dress at H&M for $40 that could also be a trendy and affordable bridesmaid dress. The hem of the dress falls right at your knee. Your girls really could wear this again!

My next finds are from Michael's Craft Store. I absolutely love a great deal and always check-out the "One Spot" at Target and the dollar section at Michael's.

If your summer wedding colors are green and orange, check-out these bright and preppy favor tags and fun mini-frames. All for a $1.

Here are some cool colorful clothes-pins that you can incorporate into your design for a birthday party, baby shower or more.

As you can see, I was like a kid in a candy store...here is one more great item! Monogram clothes hooks. How cute! You can hang these and add a beautiful floral wreathe to the hook to make an awesome statement on your ceremony and/or reception doors.

Are You Covered?

You have the ring, you've set a date, you said "yes" to the dress, picked out your wedding colors, tasted cakes...but are you covered?

After the proposal, brides, make sure you get insurance for your wedding ring. In today's post by Darcy Miller of Martha Stewart Weddings, she provided a few tips for getting started with wedding planning, one of which was "Insure Your Ring".

Although you may plan on never taking off your engagement ring or wedding band, there will most certainly be times when you have to remove it, so plan ahead.

To get insurance for your ring, you will first need to have an appraisal by a certified gemologist, which your fiance should have received upon purchase. Make sure that your or your fiance reviews the terms of the policy for the ring. Many jewelers may ask that you come in once a month for cleaning and maintenance.

Next, talk to an insurance agent about your options in the case that a stone or the ring itself needs to be repaired or replaced.

You may be able to add a jewelry rider to your existing homeowners or renter's policy, but if not, definitely set up a separate policy.

Newly engaged brides...are you covered...? Leave a comment.
