Harvey B. Gantt Center in Charlotte

Last year in October the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts and Culture opened its doors in Charlotte. It is such a great event space and a must see if you have not checked it out already.

In creating the venue, they made such awesome design choices. Each space has a modern and clean look, with a non-obtrusive aesthetic. You can pretty much create a multitude of looks for your event.

Next month, The Beautiful Mess Photography and I will be creating another concept-shoot together at the Harvey B. Gantt Center. Check back in the summer for pictures from the shoot!

Custom Travel Guide

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting-up with Jeri Brentlinger for lunch. Jeri is a fabulous researcher here in Charlotte that has carved out an amazing niche in travel. She creates custom travel guides for family vacations, weekend trips, honeymoons, destination weddings, girlfriend getaways and more! Her love for research and travel shines through in her conversation. You will feel very at ease with Jeri as she guides you in planning your next vacation.

Her process for creating your very own professionally printed guide book starts with an initial consultation where she will determine the format of your guide and the services you need.

The guide books can range in style from:
"Top 10" Must See and Do
Activities and Sports
Art and Passion—vintage shopping
Daily itinerary that offers activity, sightseeing & dining options

Fabulous Local Store Find: Homegoods

I've not been able to get over to Homegoods in a while, but made time this weekend and that store never disappoints. The location in Huntersville is the best!

Check-out these FABULOUS ruffle pillows! The ruffle style has been out for a little while, but always a little pricey. Now you can add these cute pillows to your home decor or a lounge space at an event for only $19.99 a piece.

Love them!

Glamour Magazine!!!!

God is so good!!! Words can not even explain how thankful I am to be able to do what I love, plan events. This year is just getting started and God has showed up and showed out in so many ways. I knew this year would hold many lessons for me, good and bad, as I navigate the world of owning my own business, but I could have never imagined what has taken place and I am truly thankful!!!

Check-out Style Perfect Weddings and Events, I'm quoted in the June 2010 issue of Glamour Magazine about wedding planning advice for brides on page 138.

You can view more wedding planning advice for newly engaged brides at the original post here.

See the Day....

While reading my Twitter feed a while back, I stumbled upon a link for weddinggawker.com (via @CocktailTerrica). I was instantly in inspiration Heaven! This website is now the homepage on my computer.

Weddinggawker is a spin-off of foodgawker, a food gallery. The website is a place for inspiration and ideas for your wedding day and anyone can submit photos, so you have an array of ideas that are updated daily and at your fingertips.

LOVE this site!!!

Check-out this image that was featured on there today, via Intimate Weddings. Such a GREAT concept to line the aisle with lanterns. Love it!

Charlotte Wedding: Anna and Jim 5.1.10

Congratulations to our Style Perfect Event couple, Anna and Jim! They were married on Saturday, May 1st at the beautiful Peninsula Club off of Lake Norman.

It was such an honor and pleasure to work with with this amazing couple. Their style was fun, chic and whimsical, so we designed, styled and planned a grandeur affair with lots of feathers and crystals.

Here is the inspiration board that we created for their wedding.

Check back next month for pictures of the wedding, by Tara Mauldin Photography, and a listing of all of the fabulous vendors that were apart of bringing the inspiration to life.
