Baby Showers!

Well, I'm getting ready to plan one of my BFF's baby showers (Mrs. Leslie Neal) and in my circle of friends (Ashley, Allia, Erica, Leslie, and Julia) "we do it big" when it comes to baby and bridal showers. It's almost like we are planning our own weddings. This past November, Leslie and I planned a wonderful carnival themed co-ed baby shower for Erica and her fiance Al filled with carnival games, popcorn, hot dogs, candy apples, and more.

If you're getting ready to plan a co-ed baby shower, follow these "2 steps", and you are sure to have a successful co-ed shower:
1.) Make sure the invitations are gender neutral and not too frilly, especially if you're celebrating the arrival of a girl.
2.) Games. Please fight the urge to play "trivia" or "celebrity couples" although I love both of those games. Come up with a few interactive games that will not take longer than 10 minutes. Guys are already hesitant about being there, so make it short and sweet.

Here is a great game idea for a co-ed shower:
Create a game table or carnival style game booths. Come up with 3-4 games to set-up at your game table or booths. Allow guests 10-15 minutes to go around and play the games.

For example, at Erica and Al's baby shower we put together a game table and game booklet. Each guest was given a game booklet and 15 minutes to complete each game at the table. At the end of the 15 minutes we tallied everyone was score and the guests with the best score won prizes.

The games included at the game table were:
Dirty Diaper Challenge - Each guest had to write down in there game booklet, which melted and smashed candy bar they thought were in the 6 diapers.
The Price is Right - Eight baby items were showcased on the game table and each guest had to guess how much each item cost.
The Guessing Game - Yes, the infamous guessing game. Guests had to write down how many diaper pins they thought were in the big baby bottle.

The game table was a hit! If you need a copy of the game booklet template, email us at info@styleperfectevents.com.

I hope this helps when you're planning your next baby shower.

Stay tuned for updates on Leslie's baby shower!
