According to USA Today the average couple spends $26,989 on their wedding and couples that live in or travel to the Charlotte area spend between $18,455 and $30,758 says the Wedding Report.
If you are sticker shock, the best way to ease your nerves is to research the many elements that are involved in a wedding, followed by setting priorities.
The first thing a couple should do when they get engaged is to sit down and discuss what type of wedding they want, followed by preliminary research on what things cost. This will give them a better idea of what they want to spend on their wedding day.
Here's a fun chart that takes a look at "What a Wedding Costs" via Wedding Chicks.

Asheville Inspiration Shoot - Chimney Rock State Park
At Style Perfect Events we love planning destination weddings in the Carolinas, especially in Asheville! Asheville is such a beautiful location. From the wonder of the Biltmore Estate to the breathtaking views of the mountains, Asheville has so much to offer.
This past November, I designed and produced an "Inspiration Shoot" at Chimney Rock State Park! My inspiration for this shoot came from researching venues in Asheville and falling in love with the natural beauty of the Opera Box at Chimney Rock State Park. I worked with many amazing vendors on this shoot from Asheville and Charoltte and I am very thankful for their efforts, especially the fabulous destination wedding photographer Catherine Marciniak.
Enjoy her work here, which was also featured on Ruffled!

Ring Warming Ceremony
Paloma's Nest |
Small weddings are fun to plan, whether they are local here in Charlotte or a destination in the Carolinas. I love the details that you can infuse into these intimate celebrations! Style Perfect Events plans large affairs and small weddings for 50-90 guests. Coming up in October, one of our weddings will have 50 guests and the couple wants the ceremony to be very special and symbolic, so in one of our planning conversations the idea of a "Ring Warming Ceremony" came up. What a great idea I thought, so here are the details for planning a ring warming ceremony!
A Ring Warming Ceremony serves as a physical connection with your guests attending the wedding ceremony. Just prior to the ring exchange, guests are invited to hold the rings for a moment to warm them with love and make a silent wish for the couple and their future together, then pass them on to next guest. Once everyone has blessed the rings, they are then returned to the officiant for the ring exchange, where the officiant may say, "These rings, now warmed by those you love the most, will forever show the world you are encircled by the love and blessings of family and friends and that the two of you are now of one heart."
Then the couple exchange rings.
Wow! Such a beautiful moment and detail for an intimate wedding. I can't wait! My eyes get teary just thinking about it.
What other ideas do you have for a small wedding?
