One of the best and most unique gifts that I received this year for Christmas, besides my Babycakes, was a retro red receiver for my cell phone. How fun! I love the kitchy humor it brings and how practical it is. Have you seen this product before? Love it!

Saturday was my last event of the year. It was a corporate holiday party at Founders Hall and my colleague Barbara of From This Day Forward Special Events provided beautiful holiday arrangements for the guest tables. After the event, I just couldn't imagine these flowers going to the trash, which many times they do when a happy home has not been identified for them after the wedding or event.

I do know of one hospital in uptown that happily accepts flowers for their patients who've been moved into hospice, but being located in Huntersville, I also wanted to find a local nursing home.

I scoured Google and my phone in search of a nursing home that would benefit from beautiful flowers. After a 10 minute search, I found Carolina Medical Center Huntersville Oaks. The staff was so friendly and I was actually able to go around the nursing home and gift some of the residents with the beautiful floral arrangements. :-)

Many couples ask me what are the typical roles and responsibilities for their wedding attendants. Emily Post has put together a great list. Please see below.

Wedding Attendant Roles
• Pay for their wedding attire and accessories (excluding flowers).
• Arrange and pay for their own transportation. (Wedding hosts should provide the accommodations.)
• Be timely and communicative regarding travel arrangements and acquiring attire.
• Understand the specific duties involved (see below).
• Arrive at specified times for all wedding-related events.
• Attend the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner; attend other pre-wedding events when feasible.
• Give an individual wedding gift to the couple, or contribute to a group gift from all the attendants.
• Assist the bride and groom whenever possible.
• Be attentive to other guests at the wedding and reception.

While chatting with one of my colleagues this week, she told me about this fun product Babycakes that she saw at Kohl's! Babycakes is the creator of the mini-cupcake machine and many more: pie pops, cake pops, mini-doughnuts, whoopie pies, etc. How exciting! Charlotte Wedding: Theckla + Beale 6.25.11

I love my job and feel truly blessed to work with such wonderful couples. My past bride, Theckla and I share a similar background. In my former life, I was an advertising account manager on Madison Avenue and Theckla also worked in New York in advertising, so in our first design meeting I was giddy with excitement when she pulled out an array of vibrant and bold pantone color chips for her wedding color palette. I knew this wedding was going to be fabulous!

Theckla and Beale were married on June 25th at St. Peter's Episcopal Church and the reception was held at the Mint Museum in uptown Charlotte. Theckla and Beale are an amazing couple. Their wedding was full of joy, laughter and good times!

This past Saturday was the last wedding of the year for Style Perfect Weddings and Events and it was incredible. Lovely couple, wonderful weather, beautiful beach, fabulous decor, great music and breathtaking views of the sunset off of Lake Norman. I can't wait to share the pictures with you!

The entertainment for this weekend's wedding was Kevin Brawley! Kevin was such a pleasure to work with and did a great job with both the ceremony and reception music. Please check him out if you're looking for an acoustic guitar player for your wedding or event.

Wedding Day Details - Charlotte Marriott Center City

It's all about the details! I love working with my clients to design a fun and fabulous wedding day. This past weekend, Style Perfect Events married off Jule + Ryan at the beautiful St. Mark's Lutheran Church on Queens Road and the reception was held at the Marriott Center City in uptown.
